So long to a good friend...

So yesterday, I became the owner of a brand new Toyota Corolla!!! It has yet to get here, so for the time being, I'm driving a nice little Prius around! Since I don't have the car yet, I don't have pictures, but here's a farewell to the car that served me well during the 6 months that I had it!

I got my Nissan Xterra in November last year, when gas prices were doing alright, not great, but just alright. I loved that I had my own car, it was an automatic, and that it had four wheel drive! I could take my friends and I camping when they got home, I could go digging the way I was supposed to, etc. I loved that car! When the gas prices started climbing, I started to feel like I no longer needed this car. It sucked all the gas up I put in it and I'm not made of money! Dad agreed with me and decided to go with me to Brent Brown Toyota in Orem to look at a new one for me.

We got there expecting to get a least a little better offer for the Xterra than the other dealership I'd gone to, but we didn't. We sat there for what seemed like 2 or 3 hours, trying to negotiate with the nice salesman they set us up with, but to no avail! They just couldn't seem to lower the price of the car, or raise the offer for mine. We even test drove a used corolla, but most of the miles on the warranty had been used up already! Finally, we talked with one of the big guys, and we just couldn't get things worked out. We were about to leave, when the offer went up for my car, by 1,000! It was awesome! Still 500 less than we hoped, but not a really bad offer. The monthy payment was still a little to high, so we switched to a manual!

So there you have it! We went to a dealership and got me a new car that will save me bunches of gas for work, driving to provo to see friends, etc. I'm excited to get it, although I am a little sad to see the Xterra go. At least I won't be going into debt for it now! Yay for me! I'll post a picture of it when I get it!
